Heavyweight Serghei Spivac took questions from the press at the official UFC Vegas 68 media day ahead of his main event …

welcome back to the Apex I’m curious if you could tell us what exactly happened last time this fight was meant to happen is I don’t know that’s not a question for me that’s a question for Derek were you very frustrated the day of when it turned out it wasn’t going to happen that’s because [Music] uh um very understanding about whatever happened because we’re not doing a simple job here so I wish him nothing but the best is it tricky to train that hard not get the payoff of a fight and then return going straight back into another camp uh I don’t think about that I’m ready for everything is there any part of you that’s a little bit nervous it might happen again and you won’t get to fight this Saturday or somebody’s gonna get the chance too bad to shoot in the enemy Chase no I don’t think about that I’m ready for everything how does this fight end on Saturday night um I’m hopeful very much that I will win this fight at what point did you know you weren’t going to be fighting States [Music] um about 10 minutes before I was about to leave my hotel room and what was the reason they gave you I know you’re saying we need to ask him what the reason was but what reason were you given because States foreign [Music] there’s a lot of things that I was told but he’s the only one who knows the truth so I didn’t bother thinking about that was there any thought to move on from him as an opponent um or were you always gonna wait for him and want to fight him is um as I told before there’s nothing I’m not worried about that I’m not not worried about who’s going to be my next opponent I’m a worker for the UFC I work for the UFC and whatever UFC says to me that I’m going to fight the next person that’s who I’m gonna fight so I didn’t think about that and what are your thoughts about fighting so late at night any of this card’s a little different uh you may not fight till what midnight one o’clock in the morning is that going to affect you at all boys yeah foreign [Music] I’m not really worried about that before I was wasn’t able to get to the states when I fought back in the other countries I fought at three four in the morning so I’m very much ready for this I I don’t think about it too much I think we should be ready for anything and so it shouldn’t be a problem and there’s been a photo going around of Derek looking very skinny and curious if you’ve seen it and what your thoughts are about that yes [Music] um I don’t think about him or what shape he’s in I think about what shape I’m in I’m uh I’m prepared I think about what kind of work I’m going to do and on Saturday night I’m gonna come out I’m going to take my victory that’s what I’m worried about thank you hey Sergey uh your last Camp you did you did it at extreme Couture it didn’t seem like you did it at extreme Couture at this camp where did you do your camp this time uh [Music] um some he put most of the training I did in Drysdale this is the gym that has a lot of heavy weights so I did a lot of preparation there and also in Big Shot boxing this is where I have my uh my boxing coach Marcus so I did a lot of work there as well awesome thank you you do Hey Brother uh last time I saw you you were with uh Roman delete say backstage after he had just beaten Jack Hermanson and you were enjoying some popcorn backstage I’m just wondering how the diet’s been going into this camp and what are you looking forward to eating most after this fight um [Music] [Music] foreign but uh you know I work for the UFC this is an important organization and so I try and eat food that is good for me food that is a healthy nutritious something that prepares me to look good in the fight and and be feel good in the fight of course Saturday and Sunday that was a cheat day sometimes we eat some some stuff that you know is is a little different but I try to stay in shape and I try to make sure that I watch my food awesome and what’s the relationship between you and Roman Delite say like is it competitive like he’s doing so well in his division right now are you then almost obligated to be like hey man I gotta one-up you and do just as well in my division is yeah yeah [Music] [Music] um foreign yeah we don’t really have that competitive you know brotherly competition or whatever going on I’m very happy for his victories and I wish for him to always be even better than me and have better successes than me I’m happy when he wins I’m happy when he improves when he when he gets some sort of success so it’s not really our thing it’s not a thing that is as typical in our culture to be that competitive you know I wish for him nothing but the best and it would be wrong if I if I want to compete with him or do better than him I wish for him all the success thank you all done bye
