After training all over the world, 22-year-old Daniel Zellhuber is poised to make a name for himself in the lightweight division as he …
foreign so how do they go I think that it was a good week overall it’s something special to share with my coach like finally being able to do this with all my team I really enjoyed have my first Gypsy fight represent my cornfield all the things that came with being a UFC fighter is something incredible if you want to be a fighter it’s something that you dream about almost sold your your professional career for me that dream starts at 10 years old so you can imagine how how meaningful was that for me signing all these posters trying for for the first time that UFC short like the Globes all this stuff it’s just a good moment for me I can’t believe that I have finally this on me you know the shorts and everything it’s great after I leave Thailand I came here to Vegas to start raining out of string quarter with culture nixik because I believe that human Beggars they have such great games and also I believe that culture is one of if it’s not the best coach in the game with him help me to develop a lot of different skills in the fight game that I need to and he’s helping me preparing myself for this fight training with Daniel has been like um kind of like driving a brand new Ferrari you know he comes from a great coaching staff already he’s very well skilled I think for us was just trying to uh you know try to add things to the tool shed right give them some new ideas and new thoughts and new principles and then for us it was just really just fine-tuning little things okay Daniel is a very disciplined guy and he wore really really hard I think he is really really prepared for this fight and I am proud of him because he’s like a son to me I think it’s gonna be a hard fight but I’m sure he’s gonna win how do you maintain discipline and focus leading up to this fight Wednesday I’m doing all the media things and the photos I think that the most funny part about that for me was talking with Daniel Cormier on Paul’s failure and all these famous fighters besides being a fighter I’m still a huge fan of MMA so being able to talk with these guys it’s pretty special for me I tried to fight all my fight with this smart approach I like to study my rivals and I like to think about what I’m gonna do in the cage good luck this weekend in that debut thank you very much thank you thanks I’m pretty excited about the fight this Saturday I feel confidence and I still feel strong like even with the wake up and all that like I feel that all these stops gives me a lot of energy and I feel good I gotta get you one of those oh for sure Friday is the The Waiting day and we just arrived to the UFC Apex I’m on weight official weight 155 pounds for Daniel zellhuber Trey was late into the weigh-ins we know that it’s because he have problems making weight foreign 156 pounds for Trey Ogden at the end he checked wait and he was good and the fight goes we are in the lightweight division Daniel cell Huber squares off against Trey Ogden for me the Face-Off is something important I’m always trying to even wean on the Face-Off and I always want to wait till they look to the other side Saturday’s fight day I’m feeling excited about the fight I feel well rested I feel that I just bounce back a lot of weight and you know I feel ready to go when I start packing up for leaving the hotel it’s when you really start to feeling that you’re about to fight you know you are again nervous but at the same time you’re excited and sharing all these with my team helped me to being more relaxed in the moment so yeah it’s good at this point I’m feeling good you know I’m feeling pretty confident about the fight about all the hard work I put obviously I’m a little bit nervous because everything is happening for the first time so it’s not easy for me to digest all the things that I’m doing right now but either way I’m enjoying everything and I feel pretty good backstage I always like to be hand grabbed like ride immediately when I arrive so then I just started doing Shadow Boxing like the warm up and things like that you know what I was about to do my UFC debut and it’s a pretty familiar feeling for me since I was fighting Contender series and it’s the the same scenario again like a good moment but I don’t feel any kind of pressure you know I was just home to gaming into this fight bring my workout to the Octagon was like something pretty special for me because you know like it’s the first time that I do this I just have all this energy now in this moment and it was good Daniel zellhuber this is a bright young man steps in as an undefeated Prospect fantastic Striker good techniques on the ground but the kicking game really stands out very long rangey lightweight listen this kid so Huber has a ton of knowledge and he is wise Beyond his years and believes that he has the way to beat Trey out right before the fight I’m feeling nothing you know it’s it’s something weird to explain because normally I’m pretty anxious that we don’t hurt you but at that moment I wasn’t feeling nothing I was just waiting for a fight to start round one starts fight there it is first shot for Ogden Ogden mixing things up in terms of how he leads the attack no rush especially for Zell Huber who’s hanging back right now Ogden’s out working him and winning this round Chris patient as though Huber is he’s got to get going it’s way too slow of a base here halfway through the first round I never feel comfortable because every time that I’m going forward Trey was throwing one key or making one thing that didn’t allow me to start throwing more punches and you know that smart move for Trey you know my problem was that I didn’t have an answer to him doing all these stuffs so going in round two I know that I need to go more to the front but I still don’t feel the pressure that that pressure that you feel when you’re losing the fight you know I still at that point have two more rounds to go I just need a little bit more volume out of you everything you’re throwing is right on I know he’s not Landing much but he’s just getting us with some Pitter powder stuff okay room two begins and it’s actually pretty much the same that round one you know like trade throwing the jab that hook that kick the inside kick moving a lot he really didn’t do that much because he’s trying to make points seems like I’ve been frustrating him a little bit he’s just being very hesitant Ogden’s Interruption of his rhythm just seems like Athens made a decision that he’s gonna throw more right at the end of the round he has to do is take down at that point I knew that I was lost in the fight and like I need to knock him out or finish the fight in the turn around a takedown in the round like that is as good as it gets now this leaves no doubt in terms of how the round might be scored going into round three I knew that I was losing the fight You Gotta Give me action you gotta go here I need action here I need to go we need something big so I need to start pressuring more I need to be more aggressive in there and I need to to go for that finish either a knockout or submission or whatever you know I need to finish the fight when the round three start I start going again to forward throwing the jab the kick I also try to land some elbows one of the elbows really get close you know but pretty good movement load it up on that elbow Ogden was able to tip underneath as jobber is trying to charge forward he’s not there and see that tank Daniel this one oh big shot from Del Huber cell Huber trying to press forward and land something big now that’s what Dell Uber’s got to do he’s got to start swinging nice Daniel keep going keep going keep going even if he was to get the Finish he would look at the entirety of the fight to be a little bit disappointed in his effort that he puts out there because it was very clear that when he went he could hit Treyon I was trying to connect that KO punch you know and I was in the third round and I connect more punches but it wasn’t enough final 10 seconds and what will be a learning experience for Daniel Zell Huber when round three anti knew that I lost a fight and when I saw my my coach and Coach Eric you know I was sad about I lost you know we wait a long time and I train for so much time for this fight and it’s something disappointing a unanimous decision in the third round every time that I decide throwing punches I connect you know so I just lost because I didn’t throw punches because I wasn’t active it’s a hard way to learn but you know it’s just experience and I’m gonna try to take the best out of this because I know that I don’t lose this fight because I I wasn’t well trained or I wasn’t prepared you know I just lost because I made mistakes and that’s my responsibility you know I just need to learn about this and you know keep working so I’m excited about see where this loss can take me sucks having your debut and having all these expectations around you and then just came here and have that horrible performance but you know I’m still pretty positive about myself and my future again I’m still young and I’m always trying to become better and you know even if I lost I learn a lot in in this fight Camp I learn a lot about myself and you know now I have more experience nobody likes to lose but I just need to go back to home and keep working it’s just one last you guys can be sure I’m gonna be back it’s just it’s just more of fun I just want everybody to know about me that I’m not gonna quit just because I take a loss to all the people that believe in me and support me because you know I receive a lot of messages of people supporting me and saying that I have a bright future and you know I just need to keep working the focus is still the same I still want to be you as Champion I know that I am still gonna be with the champ you know just wait for the UFC to give me another fight and then came here and have the performance of my life
