another great Max Holloway performance I’m curious what did you think of his his going out there yeah I thought he looked good he he uh he kept the pace and and uh kept the distance controlled the Temple of tempo of the fight I think that Allen looked incredible I mean if you think about it’s his first big night ever uh in a main event whole crowds against him and he came on too late I mean if he’d fought in the fifth round uh the way he fought in the fifth round in the third round on he would had a better chance of winning the fight it is still good though for a young guy to be told hey you need to finish and then he goes out in the fifth round and at least tries to do that right right I yeah I don’t even want to get into that but yeah I’m not a corn man or a coach but yeah I think there should have been a sense of urgency earlier but I’m not a corner man so what do we do with Max now right obviously he’s had the street with Alex and that’s always a tough position to be in to be a contender who’s better than everyone else but not as good as the champion or you haven’t beaten the champion so what do you do with Max do you try and say hey look we’re gonna find fun fights for you or you’re going to fight all the contenders what do you do I don’t know you know he won tonight and uh we’ll see where he goes here and like I said he’d be the young super talented guy that you know could have fought a different fight had he had he stepped it up a little sooner with Edson a vintage knockout from him I’m curious what you thought of his his knee what’s the question edson’s knockout incredible yeah again against a young look at how long Edison’s been here and and uh you know again uh against a young up and coming Savage and and finish the fight the way that he did impressive you gave her a bonus but I wanted to point out Gillian Robertson right because she’s kind of quiet I feel like she goes under the radar but she Taps girls doesn’t go under my radar but I I love that kid every time she fights win loser draw um she goes for it I mean she goes in there to fight and you know she could have easily kept that top position just kept dropping punches and elbows no she goes for the armbar which is super dangerous you know uh to give up that position a lot of people don’t do it they play it safe she never plays it safe she goes in there and she goes to war she was on the bottom she started scrambling then she gets on the timing she’s a she’s a tough woman to fight I love watching her fight I’m a huge fan of her so she definitely does not go onto the radar you know if you’re a fight fan ever every time she steps in there and you’re a real fight fan you know you’re in for a treat Win Lose or Draw I don’t know if you saw the first fight the night but the judge’s decision was pretty controversial I came in right as it was ending I I did I did miss the first fight of the night and uh I I we got a text from from Mick that said if this is how the judging is going to be tonight we’re in for a real shitty night um so yeah I missed that one it was pretty bad I’m curious is that something you guys can re-look at it and maybe because I mean she loses half Brandon Roy Val got a win he was in here earlier he kind of made it sound like uh somebody from the UFC had told him that he’ll be a backup Fighter for the Brandon Moreno fight is that true yeah yeah I know he looked good tonight man were you pretty impressed with him very I mean I’m always impressed when that kid fights he’s he’s incredible and and I knew that fight was going to be good I just you just know during this card uh your heavyweight champion Jon Jones was tweeting quite a bit I know you said that you guys hadn’t really talked to him and he wasn’t really on social media no no that was totally blown out of proportion this is what you guys do I say something you blow it way out of proportion I said all the build up and all the lead up to that fight you know what I mean all the Sean Jones knocked on poof and then he’s just gone you know John just back into the thing and then Steve ache him I don’t know what steepe said but it’s like it turns into drama there’s no drama here I was just saying the build up was huge everything else and then poof John was gone you know what I mean back back home and everything else but yeah as far as I know everything’s good and and hopefully we have a fight and with him and Stipe very soon he kind of made it sound like it would be Madison Square Garden is that kind of the thought who did John that’s where we’d like to do it yeah um so I guess she runs back huh he hasn’t disappeared anymore he’s back it’s so easy to create drama in this sport it’s insane anyway yeah back in Kansas City tonight a great crowd um this summer I know you’ve you’ve mentioned Jacksonville is somewhere you’re looking to go I think you commented on Instagram about Boston this is a potential City both yep I guess are there any other cities you guys are looking to hit this summer um yeah uh yeah I mean you know we’re going back to uh we’re going back to Canada we’re gonna hit Boston again uh this last fight in Jacksonville is a thank you uh to the mayor down there who did a lot of good things for us during covid um and um what else are we doing what else lynnae uh that’s the holiday doesn’t want to tell you guys I love it yeah that’s it apparently that’s what the boss says last one for me um Nate Diaz came out the other day and he said after his boxing match that’s upcoming he would like to have a conversation with the UFC again do you foresee a time that you guys could work something out and that there’s any sort of future for Nate in the UFC we love Nate um I don’t know we’ll see yeah thanks Anna all right Dana yep just behind us um going back to the topic of Arnold and I know you were talking about the the urgency maybe needed to come a little bit earlier in that fight that aspect of the fight aside how did you rate his performance he looked how he cope with being on the big stage yeah listen young guy uh up and coming gets ranked in the top five and then has a uh you know he’s the main event in a place where the entire crowd is sharing against them you know it’s a lot of pressure for a guy I thought he handled it well you know he’s obviously talented enough he went five rounds with Max Holloway um you know one of the best ever I just think he poured it on a little too late yeah I’m not his Corner man he’s he’s there are some parallels with him and Leon Edwards in that neither of them are big outgoing personalities who really push themselves on social media but they’re they’re very dedicated and they’ve built these long win streaks in the UFC where do you think Arnold’s direction should be from now obviously he’s hit that ceiling with Max right now where do you where’d you sort of see him in the the featherweight landscape right yeah I don’t care about the guys who who necessarily get out there on social media or talk or do anything else it’s all about and this business is all about how you fight are you good enough and and let me tell you how hard it is to break into the top five especially in that weight class um and he has and he’s a talented guy and I think that uh you know there are a lot of mistakes made tonight in the corner and and you know uh obviously he um he’s got that experience under his belt now and they got to go back and figure out what what went wrong and what was broken and fix it and come back he’s a talented kid and just to quickly touch on the topic of of Leon he’s I believe he said that he he’s not going to be fighting in July in London and he’s possibly looking at Abu Dhabi um is that still Colby or is is there other potential options on the table for Canada uh what was the thinking between about doing the trilogy with like Irene aldana up there kind of chirping for a title shot was it just did it just make sense to you about the trilogy between Amanda and Juliana uh well all this stuff there’s a lot of things that go into the matchmaking timing injuries and I mean seriously if you guys knew half the that we go through in making these fights and keeping fights together um you know there’s a lot of things to factor into making Main Events co-main events and who’s fighting where and why and all that was Irina Donna in the in the any of Jake Paul fights but I’m sure you care about Nate Diaz fighting and you know he’s making his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul do you think Jake’s spitting off a bit more than he can chew with Nate I don’t want to on other people’s fights like Oscar de la weirdo um but uh yeah no I don’t want to talk about the fight it’s just there’s no first of all neither guy is my guy there’s just no need for me to comment on it or whatever I wish him the best I hope they make a zillion dollars I don’t know I spoke to you about this last week about the the London card you guys trying to heavyweight division uh alzamat and Dustin Jacoby two Strikers what’d you think of ozamized performance tonight I’m sorry ask me that question again oh it’s just awesome performances striking ability he landed a lot of strong punches uh and kind of kind of touched up on uh damage Dustin a ton what’d you think of his performance and Dustin Jacob yeah yeah yeah yeah I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry yeah yeah uh yeah that was a tough fight um you know that’s another again I hate when I get him put in this position but uh I I think that he’s gonna re-watch that fight and realize how tired he was and that he should have pushed the pace more instead of trying to take him down you know he went he got the takedown he roughed him up a little bit then when he got back up he should have went for broke he should have threw the kitchen sink at him the last however was a minute and a half 45 seconds I don’t know what it was he’s going to re-watch that fight and go that was a winnable fight for me I should have I should have let it all go but again learning experiences for these guys and and uh you know when when you earn a must win situation meaning you have to finish the guy in the third round you know going for takedowns and pushing him against the fence and kneeing them in the legs that is going to win you the fight you know you have to get in there and if you really want to dog it out and win when you got a guy as tough as he is that’s tired as he was go for it you have a window of opportunity to try to win the fight and at least when you look back on it you can say I gave it everything I had and I tried to finish the fight and I just didn’t finish it you know just my opinion I’m not a Corner man or a fighter you know and obviously uh Dustin didn’t finish the fight in the third round but you’ve seen just his kind of mentality I’m from around his hometown back in small town Illinois just the adversar he’s been through and he’s been through the been cut from the UFC uh got on the Dana White Contender series and comes back and fight just uh the kid’s attitude in the third round didn’t surprise you really did it no it’s there’s no doubt that the guy is a tough durable talented kid um it just comes down to that last minute and a half 45 seconds that if he would have done it differently we might be having a different conversation right now and those that’s one of those things when you’re a fighter uh you go back with your corner and you start watching tapes and I’m assuming you just go I should have let it all go that last minute and and could have had a behind him you know he got the great Frost in this corner so the game planning was there and uh I I think he’s uh he’s up there for sure I lost him for me I mean it’s kind of the hard question to answer right but what is next he knows it hey I’m going to sit there and I’m going to go after volkanovski I have to hope your year wins what’s the next one for you oh we see what happens you know may the distance maybe with some of the lower you know middle tier Fighters but then when he got to the topper top of the division it was kind of quick fight so I guess what did you think compared to your expectations when you’re in there with him hey this is Mark gyro he’s a smart guy I think he did really good and um just an awesome guy and uh he’s gonna he is a thick boy dog oh my gosh he’s pretty big I was tripping out he’s like a bodybuilder you know like no legs but this upper body like like a tank you know almost like a Vogue so it was pretty crazy I was like bruh these guys are so weird with their body type like this it’s it’s kind of confusing and I guess some also like for you just coming off of a little bit of a layup how do you stay so like we were talking like you just seem so calm in there like you know I guess without fighting once every couple months how do you kind of keep that mentality just being there so much bro I’ve been we’ve been what is it how many fights I have do you know how much fights I have in the UFC now like 24 now or 25 something like that right it’s just another day in the park you know like that’s before I walk all me and my team are just talking regular stores what’s going on you know what we’re doing after you know so at the end of that day it’s just it’s just something that we just been here we know what it is and we won’t get the job done yeah and he um he landed a few good shots on you but were there any that ever like rocked you or anything or was it you seem to take them very well no it’s more piss off right it’s it’s everybody’s rematched her at this point if you’re carrying on at 45. are you also potentially considering jumping up to 55 taking some new challenges on at 55 and maybe splitting your time between the two divisions just to freshen things up we see what happens we see what happens Never Say Never man we can talk to the UFC and see if they let you do that I I they don’t like people spending their time too much but um the beautiful thing is when you get a belt you can do whatever you want so that’s the main goal right now and give us a prediction for the the next Tower Fire by the way how do you think that’s going to go I I think it’s going to be way more contestant fight than people think it is going to be uh uh a year is a super awkward guy to fight just because he’s fast and lanky and spinning and flashy and VOC is just a super hard guy to get ready ready for you know you can’t even find training Partners that’s like Vogue bro the guy’s uh the guy is like the thing you know it’s just it’s weird so at the end of the day um I think it’s gonna be an exciting fight and uh I just get to be a fan bro I’m not gonna guess anything I think there’s gonna be an awkward fight for both of them and may the best man win you took some pretty heavy shots in there from from Arnold tonight I’m just curious is who who’s he who’s caught you the hardest at 45. uh Philly Andrew Philly he’s the only guy that I ever got caught with and I looked at the time and I was like what the what am I doing and I remember going to the cage and be like holy I literally hit me pretty hard so Andrew Philly
