foreign [Music] division finally got a Philadelphia Pennsylvania herons paper so how to go overall fight week for me was super stoic in the sense that I got to really enjoy every moment of it to be able to soak in all those moments that you get to share with your team and you know first time experiences for me as an actual UFC contracted fighter now it was definitely a very real and finally like I finally made it type to you [Music] [Music] I did expect to be back in Vegas very very soon I did say that if I got in um and won my contract and I was uninjured I was going to turn around and fight very quickly we took a walk on the Strip Me and My Team it was fun you know we make jokes the whole time we rip on each other [Music] thank you you know I think it’s good to just keep your mind occupied thank you [Music] life has changed for me a lot since I won my Contender series fight people noticing me and you know wanting to take pictures with me I feel like that’s the most surreal part of it yet just because I don’t look at myself as somebody that’s any different from who they were right before the contender series I forget why people are asking me you know to take pictures or you know shouting me out and I’m still me I’m still a joke played for the fifth I’m someone that never doubted the dream that I had and this would have never happened if I didn’t have the belief that I did so it’s cool it’s just acknowledgment of the work that I’ve put in you know there’s much more to come foreign [Music] day I’m looking forward to it and I’m taking this all in this week you know this is uh my first time going around and I’m sure it’ll get exhausting at some points but you know this is a part of my job and I’d rather be doing this than a nine to five my signature stinks right now but we’ll get it [Music] trying on the UFC fight kit is probably the most close to Israelis against type feeling especially for me my first go-around doing this trying to show as much as possible people won’t have to pay for you I like people it feels like I’m getting closer and closer to the real thing and I think what’s going to seal the deal is you know actually wearing the gear and going out there and performing with my own name please [Music] sucks for him we’re me putting the gloves on it does feel good it feels right I feel like I’m supposed to be here large yeah all right cool thing is really taken off what does it felt like to you know set the tone and week after week people really taking that message I’m trying to do is show people that hard work can’t be denied and uh as long as you want something bad enough you’ll get it you just can’t give up will I be able to go in there yeah yeah cool this is real [Music] only time I got to be in here is when I’m fighting and you don’t feel like you can uh really get a feel for it I’m I’m trying not to uh make the moment bigger than it is so that way I can make the moment as big as I need to when it comes to be fight night so day right before the weigh-ins so we have everything that we need of the building coach Sean has me hitting pads for a couple rounds just get the slack out the sauna suit on got some sweets right on I do really well with you know staying very sweaty and it’s like once I get going I keep going uh just going over some fine touches on the pads yeah you know coach John does a good job of keeping in my head you know what the game plan is I’m feeling 100 better than I’ve ever felt I think I’m gonna crush this weight cut I’m gonna go on there and I’m gonna try and hurt this guy Fridays today’s the day we go way in I’m excited to see you know him face to face you know size them up see who’s bigger see what I feel you know look at his face and just see if he’s about it next to the scale Joe pifer [Music] official weight 185. so I get on the scale I made weight uh 185 Championship weight [Music] losski came late to land so you know immediately obviously I thought he was struggling with some weight issues next to the scale Alan amadovski [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I disappointed 186 and a half for Alan amadovsky are you going to give him time good thing is Alan only has half a pound so hopefully he makes it and uh at least the fight’s still on either way I don’t want to see anybody suffer like be hurt but you know I am fighting him so can’t be too nice and uh I can promise you though I won’t ever mix being nice with when I get in there being too nice [Music] versus Joe Piper got the face off with Alan amadovsky I think there’s a lot that you can tell by a stare down whether that person has bad intentions they’re nervous or whatever the case is you know he looks a little bit nervous so we’ll see I think he’s going to learn very quickly that I’m I’m the heavier punching power guy I just don’t see where he could take this fight that I’m not prepared for it but we’re gonna find out tomorrow night [Music] so it’s fight day I got the nerves I got the butterflies very calm but very nervous it’s weird he didn’t get a birthday wake up yeah running in my room dry humping me to wake me up happy birthday today is my birthday and uh I’m turning 26 years old getting close to the third and uh I want to go out there and make some money love you bro I love you too I’ll see you after sir it’s getting it’s getting real you know it’s getting closer and closer and I think the closer it gets the climber I get it’s a slew of emotions just trying to keep him in check trying to keep the heart rate low till it’s time to let loose I arrive at the Apex I go to the back they take me to my corner you know I get my my official UFC outfit that’s one of the things I was super hyped about I couldn’t wait to get something with my name on it you know that’s like the ultimate goal when you want to get into the UFC like Contender you don’t get that you get in UFC now you get your own Gear with your own name [Music] all right yo yo you ready dude I’m good man I’m life Joey let’s go they call my name and that’s when you realize it’s on it’s like here we go waiting behind the curtain before I go compete everything seems to slow down you feel every heartbeat it’s just that nervous wreck feeling you know even getting it talking about it it just gets me like riled up you start getting the shakes and you start feeling it you really find out how bad you want it this is something that I’ve been training for since I was four and a half years old and now I’m 26 years old and I was always told I wasn’t gonna make it here so I get emotional in that little moment but then I bring myself back and then you know it’s just it’s time to go about 26 years old he fought on Dana White’s Contender series gets the big knockout and he does so where Dana White wanted to set the tone for all other up-and-coming fighters to be Joe pifer taking that walk to the Octagon man gives me the chills I get super amped up my song comes on and that’s the most surreal feeling of all this so far he’s training with many more UFC caliber guys down in Philly as well it shows in his performances he believes that he is better than amadovski everywhere and he has never been hit by anyone that has the crack of Joel pifer let’s get to it between these middleweights I’ve been working for this since I was four and a half years old this isn’t just you know the fight game for me this is my life this is a lifestyle this is everything sir ready sir here we go fight round one starts I go out there you know I started fainting a little bit trying to make sure that I could get him the bite see how reactive he was he seemed to be very reactive Piper said that he feels no pressure there’s a ton of pressure on him because you only have one opportunity to build off of what happened on the contender series we’re really waiting for him to come to me you know he wasn’t so I had to adjust through a deep kick tried to mix it up a little bit tried to fight it on the outside trying to get my jab moving after two minutes or whatnot and he wasn’t coming to me I was like all right we’re going to him as I’m pressing him I throw a left hole body shot trying to come over with an overhand to the body and up top five fast fast hands man realize where my range was I want to make this a fight that was a nice combination [Applause] I could hear John Marquez kept selling me you know yep up the uppercut was going to lift his head being as reactive as he was so I made a pivot stop and I hit it again and boom we put him down oh oh that’s it down and out wow B Joe Piper strikes again there it is there it is my team’s jumping up I jump up give my coach a hug it’s it’s a very euphoric feeling I love it [Applause] [Music] I’m not ladies and gentlemen comes officially three minutes 55 seconds round number one where you have your winner by TKO Joe Piper my name being announced the winner that’s what SEALs the deal from it being officially a victory as my UFC debut how you doing I’m here two years like I don’t think I would be here and be doing the things that I’m doing if I didn’t meet you [Music] this first UFC win is everything that’s history in the making for me you know now that I’m in the UFC it’s just what I believe was always meant to be I used to tell people when I was younger I don’t believe I’m meant to be average I’m on average not many people can go through what I’ve gone through and come out on this side this is always going to be a Surreal Life that I’ve lived and I want to make sure that I keep it that way let’s see how far I can take this was this a good experience for you this has been the best experience of my life [Music]
